The floors are done!
The floors have been sealed, and WOW what a difference in the color! Sophie and Sadie say that the tennis ball bounces much better on the new floor than on the carpet.
We bought the slate at Floor and Decor, and it was $2 per sq ft (I think we did about 600 sq ft). We were going to install it ourselves, until we looked at removing the terazzo floor in the front hall (to the left of the blond dog, Sophie). It was going to need removal, and by a professional. We got a contractor in to look at it, and he said we really need to have slate professionally installed b/c it is uneven in thickness. He felt sorry for us, since we were going to do it ourselves, and cut us a break. Normally it's $6 per sq ft to install slate, but he did it for $4.50 per sq ft, including the grouting. There were a few extra expenses to bust out the terazzo and rebuild the threshold at the front door. So, ended up more expensive than we'd hoped, but we love it so much!
I'm 37 years old, and have been married to David for almost three years. We live in Houston, Texas with our two adopted canine daughters, Sophie and Sadie, and two cranky old cats.

Ok, you've got to come over and help with my floors now! LOL!
So, share how this project began. Where your bought the materials, how you installed them, how much it roughly cost... that type of stuff...
gorgeous floors and cute dogs. what a combo!!
GREAT floors!!!!
Love the floors! I'm not going to show my dog the pics cuz she would be jealous of the better bouncing tennis ball!
